Head Pieces (Make 1 in Yellow & 1 in Green)

You will be making two separate pieces, one in yellow and one in green. Start with green.

Fasten off green side. Do not fasten off the yellow side. Next, you will going down the side of the green in the front loops using the yellow yarn. In FLO of green side with the wrong side facing you, sc x 45 around. Before you close the head, stuff lightly with fiber fill. FO and weave in ends.

Body (Make 1 in Green)

This is made in rounds. Stuff as you go.

Small Petals (Make 4 In Orange)

Using the arms and legs, fasten on the FLO of the 1st round of green with the yellow end facing you.

Eyes (Make 2 In Blue)

This is made in rounds.

FO and leave a long yarn tail to attach to the head.

Assembly

Using pins, position the petals in place so that the bottom of the petal is just behind the yellow border on the head. To get the lovely yellow border around the head, do not use the loops of the yellow row to sew the petals but sew into where the green row connects with the yellow. Using a whip stitch secure each petal in place. Make sure to evenly space the petals so they are no more than stitch apart.

Next, using pins, position the arms and legs in place. The arms should be placed on opposite sides between about row 22 to about row 25 of the body. For the legs, they should be placed on opposite side between row 1 and row 5 of the body. Using a whip stitch, attach each limb to the body.

Next, attach the eyes to the face using a whip stitch. See the first photo for placement. Lastly, with a small bit of black crochet thread, embroider the mouth as shown in the first photo.
